For news of the German manufacturer's engineers prepared two power plants. The first of them - a hybrid. It combines a 300-horsepower six-cylinder petrol engine and 109-horsepower electric motor that was fed by a set of lithium-ion batteries that can recharge from an ordinary household outlet.
According to Mercedes-Benz, from zero to "hundreds" this car will drive for 4.8 seconds and its maximum speed will be 250 kilometers per hour. The maximum speed of the prototype with the movement of pure electric 120 kilometers per hour, and the range - about 29 kilometers.
Second power plant - hydrogen. It comprises a 136-horsepower electric motor and lithium-ion batteries. Electricity produced by a battery installed in the fuel cell located in front of the body, during a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, as well as through a system of energy recovery during braking.
