Mercedes-Benz showed a prototype of the new CLS (7 photos)

Mercedes-Benz is disseminated information on the concept car called F800 Style, which shows in what direction will design new models of the German brand, including a four-door coupé CLS next generation.

   The concept car F800 Style features a new modular rear-wheel platform, which should in the future to replace expensive "mersedesovskuyu" architecture with a double sex sandwich. It will be used not only for the CLS, but also for the following A-and B-Class, as well as the new compact SUV.
   Overall length of the prototype is 4738 mm, width - 1938 mm, height - 1445 mm, and the wheelbase is 2,924 mm. Cargo Volume - 440 liters. As noted in the company's Mercedes-Benz, the dimensions of the conceptual and future commercial machines are very similar.
 
   For news of the German manufacturer's engineers prepared two power plants. The first of them - a hybrid. It combines a 300-horsepower six-cylinder petrol engine and 109-horsepower electric motor that was fed by a set of lithium-ion batteries that can recharge from an ordinary household outlet.
   According to Mercedes-Benz, from zero to "hundreds" this car will drive for 4.8 seconds and its maximum speed will be 250 kilometers per hour. The maximum speed of the prototype with the movement of pure electric 120 kilometers per hour, and the range - about 29 kilometers.
 
  Second power plant - hydrogen. It comprises a 136-horsepower electric motor and lithium-ion batteries. Electricity produced by a battery installed in the fuel cell located in front of the body, during a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, as well as through a system of energy recovery during braking. Note that similar units are already being used by car Mercedes-Benz B-Class F-Cell, whose production began at the end of last year.
    In addition, the concept car has improved COMAND system with touch-padom "in the center console, a new adaptive cruise control system Distronic Plus Traffic Jam Assistant, is capable of speeds up to 40 miles an hour to fully control the steering, accelerator and brake and modernized proprietary security system Pre-Safe, able to recognize the occurrence of an emergency.
