Australians to build a supercar for the money "fans"

Australian company Joss Developments has decided to raise funds for the development of its first supercar using crowdfunding service Kickstarter. The company is calculated by 1 October of the current year to collect 480 thousand Australian dollars (445.5 thousand USD). 




In Joss Developments argue that this amount will be sufficient for the completion of the engineering and product design, as well as creating a test prototype. While fully funding the company is planning to build the first working model of the supercar to the end of 2015. After a year and a half after that is scheduled to begin production of mass-produced copies. 

Mid-engined supercar is scheduled to make and rear wheel drive, as well as to equip it with an aluminum five-liter "eight" power of about 570 horsepower and carbon fiber body panels. The engine is expected to be paired with a robotic "mechanics" called Zeroshift, the ability to change the gear ratio without interruption of power. 


Weight will be about 900 pounds. First "hundred" coupe will be able to dial in 2.8 seconds, and dregovuyu a quarter mile (402 meters) to overcome in 10.5 seconds (estimated speed at the end of the segment - 230 kilometers per hour). Maximum speed - 340 kilometers per hour. 


The estimated cost of the serial supercar - 600,000 Australian dollars (556,000 USD). 

Joss Developments company was founded in 1998 by designer Matt Thomas, who worked at Bentley, BMW, Aston Martin, Jaguar and the team Formula 1 Stewart GP. In 2004, he announced his intention to develop a supercar in 2004, but seven years later were shown only renders allegedly production vehicle. Then the project was shelved due to lack of funding.
