The new compact rear-drive coupe will occupy a niche below the model GT86. The car will be presented in 2018. New products will be fully developed by Toyota, without the intervention of a third-party automakers.
The first prototype of the car is already built coupe based on the new platform and received a number of carbon details. Weight of the new coupe will not exceed 1,000 kilograms.

Under the hood, the new coupe will be a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with around 135 horsepower. Transmission successor MR2 receive mechanical - the same one that is installed on the GT86, and possibly the appearance of automatic transmission.
