Mercedes-Benz introduced a new sports car

In Affalterbach debuted a new model Mercedes - supercar intended to replace in the line family of SLS AMG and compete with Porsche 911. He fully developed sports division of the German manufacturer and launched under the brand name company - Mercedes-AMG GmbH, and not as a Mercedes-Benz. 





The technology, dubbed the Mercedes-AMG GT, built on a chassis with a lightweight aluminum space frame has independent suspension double wishbone front and rear, as well as a completely new engine, available in two versions of power. 



The supercar will be powered by four-liter twin-turbo "eight", which develops 462 horsepower (600 Nm at 1600-5000 rpm) for the base version and 510 forces (650 Nm at 1750-4750 rpm) on the modification of "S". 


The unit traditionally AMG will be collected manually when an engineer is responsible for one engine. Transmission - a seven-step "robot" with two clutches, installed under the scheme transaxle, when the transmission is in the rear of the vehicle. 


Weight basic version of Mercedes-AMG GT is 1540 pounds, and the modification of S - 1570 pounds. The distribution of mass between the axles - 47:53 in favor of the back. Ratio of weight to power reaches a minimum of 3.08 kilograms per horsepower. 



The standard version of the rear-wheel supercar capable of accelerating from zero to "hundreds" of 4.0 seconds and a top - in 3.8 seconds. Maximum speed in the first case is electronically limited to 304 kilometers per hour, in the second - 310 kilometers per hour. 


In addition, the supercar will receive an active exhaust system, the volume of which varies depending on the selected mode of operation of the power plant (from "comfortable" to "race"), an adaptive suspension, stabilization system with three modes, rear mechanical unit itself for the base version and an electronically controlled differential for S. 


Will also be available brakes with 420-mm carbon-ceramic discs on the front axle and 360-mm on the back. 


The equipment of Mercedes-AMG GT will include adaptive headlights with LED, rear view camera, front collision warning system, tracking the dead zones, Traffic Sign Recognition, control involuntary crossing a solid line marking.


World premiere of new items will be held this fall at the Paris Motor Show. AMG GT sales in the European market will begin in March 2015.
