Mercedes-Benz plans to produce 10 hybrids by 2017

Mercedes-Benz is planning in 2017 to offer up to ten models with hybrid power plants, have the ability to recharge the batteries from the mains. This is with reference to the head of the new research and development of Daimler Thomas Weber said the publication Car Advice.

In this case, the top manager does not exclude that in the future the combined plant will also be equipped with front-wheel drive model and - A- and B-Class, GLA and CLA, but this would require upgrading units. 

In November, the Germans will start selling hybrid modification flagship sedan S-Class new generation represented at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show. Version of the S500 Plug-in Hybrid equipped with three-liter six-cylinder turbo engine capacity of 333 horsepower, 80-kilowatt electric plant and a set of lithium-ion batteries. 


Pure electric sedan can travel up to 30 kilometers. This version is able to recruit "hundreds" of 5.5 seconds, and its top speed is electronically limited to 250 kilometers per hour. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle is less than three liters per hundred kilometers. 

It is expected that the next in the line of rechargeable hybrid Mercedes-Benz will be the C-Class. This modification is expected to debut in October at the Paris Motor Show. It is assumed that in the power plant will liter turbo and 50 kilowatt electric motor. According to others, the novelty can get the same units as the S500 Plug-in Hybrid.
