Mercedes-Benz introduced a new concept crossover

The German company Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled conceptual crossover G-Code concept, designed for use in urban environments. Public presentation of the German new items will be held at the upcoming LA Auto Show. 




The announcement was made during the opening ceremony of the research and development center Daimler AG Mercedes-Benz in Beijing. The car has a five-door four-seater body with a huge grille that can be highlighted in different colors. 


Officially presented conceptual crossover Mercedes-Benz G-Code concept has an overall length of 4100 mm, which is 317 mm shorter than the GLA. 


The interior looks much unusual exterior: wide front panel without buttons, huge display instrument panel, steering-wheel. 


Depending on the selected driving mode the vehicle can be front-wheel, rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. Also conceptual miniature Mercedes-Benz G-Code concept is equipped with a specially developed suspension "power-on-the-move suspension", which uses the energy generated during reverse movement of the shock absorbers and springs, to drive the generator. 


Mercedes-Benz G-Code is equipped with a hybrid power plant: an internal combustion engine that runs on hydrogen, drives the front wheels and the electric charge of the rear axle. 


Official representatives of the German auto giant did not disclose all the secrets of innovative car, but noted that the concept of Mercedes-Benz G-Code concept is powered by the "most advanced turbine engine running on hydrogen, and an electric motor, which drives the rear axle."
