Toyota unveiled the rally version of the GT86

Toyota has introduced a coupe version of the rally GT86, which was in the name of the prefix CS-R3. The announcement was prepared by specialists motorsport Japanese brands - Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG). 




Coupe received an upgraded two-liter horizontally opposed "Quartet", a forced 200 to "240-250 horsepower." Additional capacity was achieved by reconfiguring the ECU and increase the compression ratio. The unit is mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. 


Coupe equipped with adjustable shock absorbers, racing exhaust system HJS, customizable limited slip differential on the rear axle, FIA homologated safety cage and a 15 or 17-inch OZ wheels for driving on gravel and asphalt, respectively. Mass rally car has decreased from 1275 to 1080 kilograms. 


The debut of new items will be held on the ninth stage of the World Rally Championship (WRC), which will be held in late August in Germany. Coupe will not participate in the overall standings. It will serve as the official "spy car" phase and will pass on all special stages to test the track before the race. 


Toyota GT86 CS-R3 will be available for order from the first quarter of 2015. According to representatives of Toyota, price trends would be comparable to the cost of other rally cars class R3.
