BMW 6-Series will be a generalist

The family of the BMW 6-Series in the next generation will be expanded: to the usual coupe, convertible and Gran Coupe will add more practical wagon Gran Tourer. 




The new generation of the BMW 6-Series will be in 2017 - a year after the 5-Series. Gran Tourer will be built based on the Gran Coupe. In terms of ranking 6-Series in the back of "universal" would be a more luxurious alternative to the next BMW 5-Series Touring, and will compete with the versatile Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake. 

It is expected that in the next generation of the BMW fifth and sixth series will be about 100 pounds lighter than its predecessors and will have a wide range of four, six and eight-cylinder engines.


There is also information about the semi-triplex units on the Bavarians still not made a decision on this matter, as they fear that many potential buyers do not like the use of small engines in big cars.
