BMW i3 will get a version of hydrogen

BMW i3 electric car can get alternative propulsion - this time hydrogen, borrowing it from Toyota FCV. 




The fact that Toyota and BMW discussing possible cooperation in the field of alternative fuels portal Motoring said a representative of the branch of Toyota in the United States Craig Scott. 

According to him, it is unclear whether the Bavarians borrow almost ready for production of the Japanese hydrogen propulsion. The main issue to be resolved engineers BMW, Japanese design and composing your own electric car - is security. Accordingly, the decision can be made only after a series of prototype testing. 

If the Bavarians can solve layout problems, hydrogen BMW i3 could become the first mass BMW car with the power plant. Company Toyota, in turn, plans to begin European sales of its hydrogen sedan in Europe and the U.S. next year. Sedan, which is rumored to be named Mirai, will be priced at least $ 70 000.
