Volvo unveiled images of the new XC90

Character of the new XC90, the predecessor of which lasted almost unchanged on the line long 12 years, was discovered a few hours before the premiere, which will be held at the Moscow Motor Show.

It is assumed that the most powerful version of the SUV will get a hybrid power plant capacity of about 400 horsepower, and the rest will be equipped with four-cylinder engines entirely new family of Drive-E. 



Base version of the new XC90 will get a two-liter diesel engine Drive-E, which will provide 190 hp SUV and 400 Nm of torque. A more powerful version of this engine will develop 225 hp and 470 Nm, while the most expensive version of the modification of the new items will be T8, which will receive the hybrid power plant named Twin Engine. Gasoline and electric motors collectively confer SUV 400 hp and 650 Nm of torque, while the Volvo XC90 T8 will consume about 2.5 liters of fuel per 100 km. 


In addition to a range of advanced, but the familiar security systems, the company intends to offer in the new XC90 is something entirely new. In particular - the system of protection of passengers with the threat of a rear impact. For example, if the vehicle is in a traffic jam or at a red light and "understands" that the back of just about will drive another car, it will tighten the straps and slightly turn the tail lights, ready to clash and giving an additional signal to the driver of an oncoming car.
