Peugeot unveiled the new concept

Company Peugeot has officially presented a new concept crossover, which was named Quartz. The prototype is equipped with a hybrid power plant, the total return that is 499 horsepower. The first public display of new items will be held in October at the Paris Motor Show. 




The structure of the power plant Peugeot Quartz includes a 1.6-liter turbocharged "four" power of 270 horsepower (330 Nm) as developed by the racing division automaker Peugeot Sport, dedicated six automatic transmission, and a pair of electric motors to power 85 kW (115 hp force) - one for each axis. They are both used for the wheel speed, and for charging a 400 volt battery during deceleration. 


Powerplant prototype has three operating modes: all-electric (power reserve is 50 kilometers), road, if enabled, the engine and operate the engine at the front axle, as well as racing. In the latter case, all the motors are functioning. 


The prototype is built on a modular chassis EMP2, which is used to create the Peugeot 308 and Citroen C4 Picasso. Overall length of the concept car is 4.5 meters, width - 2.06 meters. Thus, Quartz to 341 millimeters long and 321 millimeters wider than the Peugeot 2008 crossover. 


On the prototype also installed 23-inch wheels and an automatic air suspension that can change the ride height from 300 to 350 millimeters, depending on the data from the cameras and navigation system. 


The interior Quartz used basalt fabric with polyester derived from the processing of plastic bottles. Floor, ceiling, door panels and seats are covered with leather prototype.
